We found the Metropolitan an ideal location for the Trans Alpine Train Journey and very near the new shopping centre. The units were modern and spotless with all the facilities you would require in a studio unit. The Manager James was extremely welcoming, helpful and informative during our stay. The beds were excellent and made for a good night’s sleep. We ordered the continental breakfast which was good value and delivered the previous night so it was there whatever time you required it. We would certainly recommend this motel for a very reasonable stay in Christchurch.

Loved it! Great accommodation! Fantastic staff! Would def go back! Rooms were so lovely!!! Decor excellent!

It’s a bit out of the CBD - but we didn’t mind catching a bus for $2 a head and it was only 5 mins away anyway!!!

Do visit - you will not regret it!

Stayed here on our last night in NZ prior to flying back home. The room was wonderfully furnished and after a long day of driving, was nice to have such a large TV to relax in front of rather that some of the small sets you often find in many hotels / motels. The duty manager was very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend these apartments to anyone staying in Christchurch.

This is a very new motel in the Riccarton neighbourhood of Christchurch. It's got tastefully appointed rooms with large flat-screen TVs, wireless and wired internet, great beds and decent kitchen facilities. The management is very friendly and the place is spotlessly clean.

I returned to New Zealand to visit my family, having lived in London for the past 3 years. I only intended to stay for 2 nights while I organised a place to stay with friends but to be honest, I couldn't bear to leave the warmth and hospitality of the Metropolitan! I had to make many excuses to friends who were horrified that I was staying in a Hotel so I could indulge for a further 8 days and nights. The Metropolitan is designed to the highest possible specifications with incredible attention to detail, the cleaning services are second to none, the double spa bath was divine, rooms were warm and surprisingly noise free away from the road, the location was perfect for shopping at Riccarton Mall and made life easier when I was meeting friends. The front desk staff made me feel so relieved to be home in NZ and could not do enough to help me in any way possible. I will definitely make more excuses to friends and family next time and book for my entire stay! I am back in London now and am craving a few nights of friendly Kiwi indulgence.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment here in November last year. The rooms were lovely, clean and modern with a few little extras such as great plunger coffee and a washer dyer in the kitchen. There was a TV in the living area plus one in each bedroom - which the children loved :)
We were greeted warmly each time we spoke with our hosts, and they answered all our touristy questions with a smile. There is ample parking on site.
Very convenient to the local Westfield shopping centre and a number of restaurants. It is located on Riccarton Road which is fairly busy, but we had a room at the rear and didn't hear any road noise at all
It is a little out of town but it didn’t matter to us at all as we had a car. There did seem to be a lot of buses constantly driving by, so I 'm sure it would still be doable if you were reliant on public transport.
